Thoughtful Interior Design From Foundation to Finish
About Gibson Design Group
Gibson Design Group is based in Charlottesville, VA and serves clients nationwide.
Andrea Gibson formed Gibson Design Group in 2000 in Seattle, WA and moved the firm’s headquarters to Charlottesville, VA in 2003.
Andrea was previously the principal designer and owner of Architectural Interiors, Inc., a Washington, DC and Seattle, WA based firm, from 1972-1999. During her 30+ years as a principal designer, Andrea has designed residential and commercial spaces across the United States, in Canada, and in the Middle East.
From 1975-1977, Andrea also served as the Director of Design for HLM Architects in Iowa City, IA-an architectural firm with over 300 employees specializing in hospital design.
Our experience with Gibson Design Group was our first with a professional designer, and going into the project we were concerned that we would be pressured into buying expensive or fancy items or that we’d end up with a showplace instead of a home.
Neither could be further from the truth. Andrea listened carefully, asked probing questions, and when she came back with suggestions, they were fabulous — not what we would have ever dared to select on our own, but after all, that’s why we hired a professional! We are just delighted with the results.
Our home now has a comfortable, “finished” appearance … not at all fancy or stuffy, but clearly intentional. Andrea gave us ample storage, enabling us to stay organized and ready for guests anytime. I hope we have an opportunity to work with her again in the future.Esther C.
