We have been working with Andrea on a major renovation involving the interior, exterior and a new addition–getting our home ready for us to age in place.

When we moved from Boston to Charlottesville I did not know where to start to decorate our home. We had a bare light bulb in the foyer and dining room.
Andrea was “brilliant” at recommending the perfect chandeliers for those areas as well as replacing sconces and breakfast room light. What a huge difference all her suggestions made in updating our house and reflecting our personality.
She was wonderful to work with and understood I wanted to use some of the furnishings we already had. She has great ideas, access to unique resources and the best workers. Andrea Gibson has designed and executed five projects for me over the years, beginning with arranging what I had to make a more attractive and efficient use of space in a new house, through the complete recovery of a large townhouse in terrible shape and designing built-in furnishings to our taste and budget.
Most recently she created a beautiful and practical living space in a condo in Philadelphia, traveling frequently to supervise the work being performed by a crew she identified through her network of contacts everywhere.
From our first project, she has always been able to determine what I would like, rather than promoting a current style, and is always mindful of my budget. I cannot imagine working with anyone else, and consider myself very lucky to have had the help of such a talented, sensitive designer every time I moved to a new situation. Our experience with Gibson Design Group was our first with a professional designer, and going into the project we were concerned that we would be pressured into buying expensive or fancy items or that we’d end up with a showplace instead of a home.
Neither could be further from the truth. Andrea listened carefully, asked probing questions, and when she came back with suggestions, they were fabulous — not what we would have ever dared to select on our own, but after all, that’s why we hired a professional! We are just delighted with the results.
Our home now has a comfortable, “finished” appearance … not at all fancy or stuffy, but clearly intentional. Andrea gave us ample storage, enabling us to stay organized and ready for guests anytime. I hope we have an opportunity to work with her again in the future.
